| Monumento a la peseta |
Es una escultura metálica y abstracta de color marrón, con una enorme moneda de 1 peseta en un canto. Está ubicada sobre superficie en la que se puede observar un gran mapa de España hecho de mármol. También cuenta con una pequeña ranura para echar pesetas.
Junto al monumento se encuentra una placa en la que, de forma resumida, se narra la historia de esta moneda.
The monument to the peseta is located in the Promenade King of Spain of Fuengirola. It was built by José Gómez, local artist an sculptor. It was unveiled in 2002, being Esperanza Oña Sevilla the mayor of the town. It was the first monument dedicated to the peseta, our official coin until it was replaced in 2002 for the euro.
It is a metallic and abstract sculpture of brown colour, with an enormous coin of 1 peseta in an edge. It is situated on a surface where you can see a huge map of Spain made with marble. It also has a small slot to put pesetas in it.
Next to the monument, there is a nameplate where, in a summarised form, it is written the history of this coin.
