La escultura fue diseñada a escala real con todo lujo de detalles. En aquella época el coche costaba unas 63.000 pesetas, lo que hoy no llegaría a los 400€. Basado en el fiat 600 (otro clásico), tenía dos puertas, cuatro o más plazas, medía 3,30 metros de largo y montaba un pequeño motor trasero. Su peso oscilaba entre 585 y 615 kg. El seat 600, sería un vehículo que marcaría un antes y un después en nuestra sociedad y que impulsó el uso motorizado en nuestro país. En agosto de 1973, dejaría de fabricarse oficialmente.
El porqué de realizarle un monumento a este vehículo se centra en que este coche está vinculado a esos primeros pasos turísticos de la ciudad y al inicio de la prosperidad de la Localidad.
